Should I step in when I see others making poor decisions?

Speaking up and stepping in, now that’s a risky thing in this world you might think. I mean after all, don’t you leave yourself open for ridicule and judgment? Let me say just on thing that you have to take to heart, God is the only one who you will stand before and be judged by when all is said and done. So with that said let’s look at the principle of speaking up and stepping in.It should not matter what others think or say, because if you do not show these people the truth they may never see it. It is up to us to share these things with others who are lost, because a lost person cannot help a lost person because they themselves do not know the way, truth, or life(John 14:6). So we need to speak up when others are making bad decisions because if we don’t others may not and we are commanded by God to do so.

When you see someone committing sin, I would think that you’d want to take a stand against it. If you turn your head then you might as well be condoning the action. If you see someone smoking pot and you say nothing, you don’t tell them of the consequences of their actions, then you just sinned and condoned the sin they are partaking in. Where is God in that decision and where is the honor in it? The truth of the matter is that Jesus died because we are sinners, but we should make a conscious effort not to sin and encourage others to do the same. Sure, you might be thinking that you can’t force someone to do something they don’t want to do. This is true, in fact, this might even cause them to rebel against you and the Christ inside you. But that doesn’t mean that you should compromise your personal beliefs or ignore the sins around you. Yes it is, like ones relationship with God, a personal choice that has to be made by the individual. They need choices though and maybe they even need to know that there are others out there that will support them if they choose the higher ground. Matthew 28:19-20 tells us that we are to go into all the world and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, that means even if we are subject to ridicule or if others might not be ready to accept it. We have to make a statement, speak up, step in if we are going to reach even one person.

There are times when one must go through tribulations in order for them to understand and experience, learn and feel the sensitivity and clarity they need to make the right choices in life. For instance, I use to drink a lot and many people told me that it was a sin, but I did not listen. It wasn’t until it almost destroyed my life and I realized it was a sin, that I was able to stop. Now I am able to help others that maybe experiencing the same thing. It should not matter what others think or say, it matters most that you try and help them see the truth. It is up to us to share these things with others who are lost. If one lost soul takes his lead from another lost soul then neither shall know the way, truth, or life (John 14:6).

It will take someone who has accepted God as their salvation and Christ as their way, to reach the lost and bring them home to the Father. Take the chance, make a difference. It’s the only way we can spread the love and ways of the Lord. Your future depends on it and you can’t leave it up to someone else because they may not take up the task and God command for us to do so. Are you willing to leave the fate of the world and the society you live in, up to everyone else, or are you going to be one of the many Christians who are willing to go the extra mile? Christ went many e
