Why is it important to share our faith?

Let us first look at what we are to share with a dying and unbelieving world. It is important to tell others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We should not try to impose our standards as Christians on a society that would not be able to understand such things. (Tithing ? ), going to church, or any of that should be saved until a later time. We should express and share Jesus with them. This means that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that we were condemned to hell because of our sins (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10, 11, 23; 5:8, 12; Revelation 20:15). Then we should go one to tell them that there is nothing you can do on your own to save yourself, no work can save you from this fate (Isaiah 64:6; Ephesians 2:8-9). Share with them Jesus Christ and His specific purpose that He had while here on earth. Jesus was a gift from God, so that we could reconciled to God. Jesus was born, crucified, and resurrected to save lost people (every living soul) (John 3:16-17; 1 Timothy 1:15). In order for us to be saved, we must believe in Gods word and invite Christ into our hearts by faith (John 5:24; Acts 16:31). We need to believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus died for us and he took our sins from us. This is what it means to accept Jesus, be saved, or be a Christian.

This is what we need to share with others, now let us get to the question Why. There are six main reasons that I would like to point out to you. The first reason is because it is a commandment of God. He tells us to go forth and make disciples of all nations (Mathew 28:19). The final words of Jesus while on earth and also in the bible speak of this. In Acts chapter one, verse eight read like this, But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses of Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. The second reason we are to share our faith is because it shows our love for God and Jesus Christ. Jesus said if we truly love Him, we will keep his commandments (John 14:15). Third reason we are to share our faith is because we are all lost. If we do not share our faith with others, how will they have a chance to experience Christ the way we all have (Romans 3:10,23). Fourth reason for us to share our faith is because it is Gods chosen method to tell the entire world. Only redeemed sinners could show and tell lost sinners about Christ and truly be able to sense what they are explaining. They have experienced just what they are telling and this allows them to be sensitive (Romans 10:14-17; Acts 8:3). Next is because God desires and wants all people to be saved. He sent his son for the world, not just you and me (Acts 4:12; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:4). Finally we should want to do for others what someone did for us. At one point in time someone shared Jesus Christ with you and you should want to do the same for others.

A sixpack of reasons you should share your faith:

1) God commands it. (Mathew 28:19)

2) It shows our Love for God and Jesus Christ. (John 14:15)

3) We are all lost at sometime, and sharing your faith can help another find their way in Christ. (Romans 3:10,23)

4) Its Gods chosen way to tell all the world of Him. (Romans 10:14-17; Acts 8:3)

5) God wants all to be saved, so by sharing Christ Jesus others can find salvation. (Acts 4:12; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:4).

6) Do for others what someone did for you. At sometime someone shared Christ with you, you should want to pass that gift on.

One of the hard things about spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the constant ridicule we might face. There are those out there that look at us funny and even make fun of us. Jesus came into this world and was not even accepted by His own people. He faced more punishment and ridicule than any one of us could begin to imagine. How was He able to face all of that and still go on and spread the word of God to others? He had the anointing and the blessing of God. Christ knew that no matter what happened on this earth, he would face God on the Day of Judgment and He would be the only one standing before His father for judgment. The disciples would not be with Him, Jesus would be the only one to give an account of His whole life. This is how it will be for us, we have the anointing and blessings of God. We too will stand before God and give an account of our lives, we will not be able to pass the buck or blame to someone else.

Many times the devil will try to make you look like an outsider or outcast when you choose to share you faith. However, let me give you a little bit of information. The devil is a liar and there is no truth in Him (John 8:44). When the devil speaks to you or makes you feel like this, he is lying to you. You need not worry about what others think about you, for they will in due time realize that you were right and they, if having the chance and making the choice, will accept Christ. However, if they do not take this opportunity to accept Jesus, they will spend an eternity in Hell. There are a lot of Christians out in the world and many of them are starting to take a stand for Christianity. Wont you do the same? As was recently said by a minister in Littleton, CO at the funeral of Rachelle Scott something to the affect of, When Ra
