Well my name is Jason Chiasson, I was born on July 4, 1976 in Houma, Louisiana. I am a twin and was raised by my mother in Louisiana. I always went to church while growing up, but not to get a word from God. Church was a place to see my friends, look good in front of parents, and to meet women. I graduated in 1994 and joined the military in November of the same year.
In my teenage years, I was your mid-stream statistical teenager. I came from a broken home, I was familiar with alcohol, I smoked, and was a habitual user of marijuana. I started working at the age of 14 and was a pretty successful teen, despite my addictions. From the time I graduated until I joined the military I was in a relationship with a young woman whom I later married. We got married on September 8 of 1995, and from there moved to Germany, due to a military assignment. Neither of us were living for Christ, so needless to say, my marriage did not work out. It lasted until June 12, 1998, upon which my wife and I were legally divorced.
Well I had hit an all time low at this point in my life. I was an alcoholic, still smoking quite a bit, and was filling my life with all types of sin. I tried filling this pain and hurt with anything I could find, which in turn put me into quite a bit of debt. Well, it was July 15, 1998 that I finally accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. It was in that one instance that my life took a turn for the better. I quit drinking, smoking, and living in sin in that one very instance. I am not saying that I no longer sin, but I, from that point made it my goal to try and live a life acceptable unto God.
Well it has been a life of victory from that point and I just give God all the praise, glory, and honor for the love, mercy, and grace he has shown me. I have not been living for God that long, but I have already found my calling, which is ful-time ministry, and continue to live for the Lord. This is my life in short and I just pray that the Lord has ministered to you through it. Just know that the Lord loves you and has a purpose for you (Jer 1:4), all you need to do is turn your eyes toward Him and be open to His will.
